Phosphea Presents Its Innovative Research at Nutriforum 2025

NutriForum 2025 took place on April 9th and 10th at the Palacio de Congresos in Lleida, Spain. This event brought together leading experts in animal nutrition to discuss the latest innovations and trends in the industry. The forum featured a variety of activities, including keynote presentations, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities. Our colleagues, Alicia Varela (Technical Sales Manager Spain & Portugal) and Jetsabell Gutiérrez Vallejos (Poultry product manager), had the opportunity to make a presentation on “Optimization of dietary phosphorus utilization in monogastrics with calcium humophosphate”. They also presented a poster that highlighted one of Phosphea’s digestibility trial: “Effects of the inclusion of Calcium humophosphate in the diet on growth performance and nutrient digestibility of broilers from 1 to 21 days of age”.

Promising Results

📈 During the oral presentation, our colleagues presented the results of an experiment conducted to evaluate the effects of the inclusion of a calcium humophosphate (HumIPHORA) in the diet of broilers from 1 to 21 days of age on nutrient digestibility. Broilers fed HumIPHORA showed better phosphorus (P) digestibility than broilers fed MCP at all doses of phytase (P<0.001). Results comparing the 2 sources of P, confirm the properties of calcium humophosphate (HumIPHORA) to improve vegetal phosphorus digestibility. In addition, the improvement of organic matter digestibility with HumIPHORA suggests a better utilization and absorption of proteins and amino acids. Indeed, the chelation properties of HumIPHORA with calcium (Ca) may reduce the formation of insoluble complexes Protein-Ca-phytate, and consequently improve phytate phosphorus, proteins/amino acids digestibility in the gut.

Innovative Research

🔬Phosphea’s scientific poster validates one of the benefits of using calcium humophosphate in broiler feed. Phosphea has developed functional raw materials such as HumIPHORA, with its specific organo-mineral complex to maximize the total absorption of phosphorus.
